Health and Fitness

We make it easy for you to get your exercise the way you like – in a group class, on your own or with a personal trainer. As a member, you get 3 free 1-hour fitness orientations with a YMCA trained Instructor to help get you started.  Whatever your goals are, be it weight loss, lowering blood pressure, or preparing for an event, the 3 fitness orientations are valuable stepping stones to help you succeed. The first meeting is an interview with you to help create an action plan. The second and third appointments are for implementing that plan with hands on training using the Fitlinxx program.  Fitlinxx is a computerized system that makes you accountable for your fitness goals.  It measures your physical activity and reports to you and your instructor monthly so that reevaluations are done when needed to keep you on track. Setup your first appointment today! You will learn about:

  • Cardiovascular machines
  • Strength training (free weights, machines and our FitLinxx computer program)
  • Abdominal and low back work
  • Stretching

Fitness Floor staff are available to meet with members and answer questions most hours that the facility is open. You may ask to have your fitness program reevaluated every three months to keep up with your progress and keep your workouts interesting.
